Join us as a GIS analyst and make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity!
As a GIS Analyst, you will work within the Land Use and Sustainability Team alongside other GIS, remote sensing, and spatial data experts. You will support the teams and wider business use of GIS software and analysis workflows. You will work alongside the Senior GIS Analyst, Team Leader and others to provide GIS support, workflow streamlining and development for current business functions and commercial opportunities. You will also be keen to work in the field supporting our drone operations, with the potential to train as a drone pilot. Alongside supporting existing commercial work there will be opportunities to work on early-stage research with our extensive collaborator network to help us build future commercial services.
What youll be doing:

  • Provide GIS and data manipulation/analysis skills to the team to support the timely delivery of commercial and scientific research projects.
  • Support GIS projects for internal and external customers.
  • Create maps, reports, visualisations and help streamline commercial workflows with an ecological focus.
  • Maintain online web maps, apps and dashboards using Esri software and help develop mobile data collection solutions for field workers.
  • Help to maintain GIS databases.
  • Help to streamline workflows and implement best practice.
  • Field work drone surveying training provided if required.
  • Stay updated on geospatial technologies and best practices.
What were looking for:
  • Ideally you will have a background in Ecology, with previous experience of using GIS for Ecology projects.
  • Experience in Esri GIS desktop software, ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap
  • Experience of Esri web technologies.
  • Experience of creating mobile data collection tools; Field Maps, Survey123
  • Experience with building tools using ModelBuilder or programming/scripting languages e.g. Python and Arcade.
  • Field work experience.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing and remote sensing technologies.
  • UK driving licence and the willingness to travel when required.
