A Snapshot of Your Day
As a GIS Installation Technician, your day will involve the installation and maintenance of Siemens Energy GIS 132kV-400kV HV switchgear at various UK substations. You'll collaborate with project managers, conduct hands-on work while adhering to safety and quality standards, and document test results and site reports.
Your role will also include creating risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), supporting other teams, and proactively addressing challenges with the Switchgear Operations Manager. How You'll Make an Impact

• Perform installation, maintenance, and gas works on Siemens Energy GIS 132kV-400kV HV switchgear at various UK substations.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality standards, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Document test results, produce site work reports, and create RAMS for work activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and support other teams within SE Transmission Services as needed.
• Maintain competency through ongoing training in product knowledge, HSE, and operational procedures.
• Plan and manage daily work activities, proactively addressing potential issues with the Switchgear Operations Manager.

What You Bring

• Previous experience in HV substations for installation and maintenance activities
• Competency in electrical schematic and installation layout diagrams
• HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant experience
• Valid driving licence
• Safety Passport, National Grid Persons certification, SPEN Authorisation, and SF6 Gas Handling certification.
• MEWP Licence, First Aid at Work certification, CDM Awareness, and Fire Marshall training.
