We are seeking an experienced and proactive Glazing Team Leader to oversee and develop our glazing department within our busy and expanding door set workshop. This role requires a confident people manager who can motivate a team, drive performance, and maintain exceptional quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the glazing line, ensuring KPIs are achieved, workloads are effectively planned, and a positive, efficient working environment is maintained. This is a hands-on role involving glass cutting and installation into wood-based doors, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting wider production and despatch activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the glazing line, working closely with the Production Supervisor to meet daily output, quality and safety targets.
Plan, allocate and coordinate tasks across the team to ensure timely and accurate job completion.
Act as the first point of contact for glazing-related queries, providing guidance and solutions to team members.
Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement in skills, processes, KPIs and operational efficiency.
Support the training and development of glazing line team members, ensuring consistent standards and capability across the team.
Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all team members adhere to Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
Assist with wider production tasks and despatch when required, contributing to a smooth workflow across the department.
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience managing or leading a team, ideally within a production, manufacturing, or glass/warehouse environment
Previous experience using routers/hand tools on Joinery products
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and listening skills
Knowledge of fire certification standards and ability to read CAD drawings is desirable
A natural and confident leader, including being organised, proactive, reliable, dedicated and target oriented
A calm, level-headed approach
