Global Logistics Manager

Role Summary




The Global Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and optimising end-to-end logistics operations across multiple regions, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role oversees international freight, customs compliance, and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships, supporting Uniphar's global distribution network. The Global Logistics Manager will drive strategic logistics initiatives, manage operational performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to support business growth and operational excellence. This position is part of the Global Operations team and plays a key role in integrating newly acquired entities and supporting group-wide strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership



Develop and implement global logistics strategies aligned with business goals. Lead cross-regional logistics initiatives to support growth, acquisitions, and operational excellence.

Operational Management



Oversee international and domestic transportation, including air, sea, and ground freight. Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Ensure timely and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical products across all markets.

Compliance & Risk Management



Ensure adherence to global trade regulations, GDP (Good Distribution Practice), and customs requirements. Monitor and mitigate logistics risks, including temperature excursions, delays, and regulatory changes.

Performance & Cost Optimisation



Analyse logistics KPIs and drive continuous improvement in service levels and cost efficiency. Negotiate contracts and rates with logistics providers.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement



Partner with internal teams (Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, IT) to align logistics with business needs. Support integration of newly acquired entities into the global logistics framework.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master's preferred). 8+ years of experience in international logistics, preferably in pharmaceutical or regulated industries. Strong knowledge of global trade compliance, GDP, and cold chain logistics. Experience managing 3PLs and leading cross-border logistics operations. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., SAP, TMS, WMS).

Preferred Attributes



Experience in post-acquisition integration of logistics operations. Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics F&O. Ability to work across cultures and time zones. Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
