In this dynamic role, you'll work within a matrix organization, collaborating closely with senior and executive leadership across all Ipsen therapy areas--with a strong focus on Rare Disease. You'll have the opportunity to lead strategic publication planning and contribute to innovative medical communication initiatives that support our mission.

Role Responsibilities



Publication Planning



To coordinate the development and maintenance of rolling 12-month strategic publication plans in conjunction with the cross-functional team, any affiliate publication teams and external medical writing and communication agencies To develop and maintain relationships across Ipsen to ensure that all relevant information is integrated into one centrally managed product or therapy area publication plan To prepare for and follow up actions from regular publication team meetings for assigned projects to drive progress in publishing scientific results To liaise with Global Medical Information and other stakeholder groups to ensure up-to-date bibliographies and reference libraries exist for assigned products To maintain up-to-date information in dedicated publication application(s) and SharePoint sites for assigned projects to share information with interested parties and document compliance with processes To stay abreast of publication guideline developments and ensure that any new advances are led by or brought into Ipsen as necessary To ensure effective liaison between R&D departments and the franchises, centrally and locally, regarding publications and communications To act as a guardian to our commitment to publish all research open access and to make the content of our publications accessible to all audiences through our Plain Language Summary commitment To complete all the above activities within the framework and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and other systems in force within the Ipsen group To perform any other activity as may reasonably be required from time to time

Management of Publications



To manage progress and drive the preparation, review, approval, and congress/journal submission of scientific publications To manage medical communications agencies and financial aspects of assigned projects To ensure that all publication activities are of high scientific and medical quality and meet Good Publication Practices standards To prepare, review, revise and edit a variety of scientific documents (e.g. abstracts, posters, papers, review articles, oral presentations, etc.) for external publication for assigned projects, when necessary To assist countries in the management of their publications To manage relationships, negotiations, contracts and budgets with subcontractors to achieve high quality and timely delivery with good value for money To manage relationships with external authors in the preparation and review of manuscripts for publication for assigned projects, including the management of publication steering committees To maintain awareness of current publication status by tracking progress of manuscripts from inception to publication for assigned projects To train internal staff in ethical scientific publication practices and introduce policies and procedures to minimize risks of non-compliance To ensure liaison with Clinical Trials Data Transparency activities to ensure timely publication of Ipsen's clinical trials

Information Cascade and Training



To develop and maintain Scientific Communication Platforms for assigned products in collaboration with internal stakeholders To communicate publication and communication planning objectives and processes to key stakeholders and ensure their proactive involvement in delivery To share publication alerts, metrics and individual publications with relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness of publication activities for assigned products To identify and support training needs in relation to good publication practices and Ipsen's approach

Medical Communications



To assist Therapeutic Areas in the creation and review of medical communication activities, ensuring that the most-up-date, scientific information is included and in compliance with all global and local regulations and guidelines To support Therapeutic Areas with congress activities, including providing publications input into the development of congress highlight reports and symposia activity, as required

Budget



To prepare budgets and forecasts in collaboration with finance and other relevant functions to meet the company's objectives To manage the departmental & external expenditure effectively In collaboration with procurement explore & propose alternative outsourcing and contracting options, as necessary

Knowledge & Experience (essential):



Relevant university degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (e.g., PharmD or PhD) Demonstrated experience in publications and medical communications management within a pharmaceutical company or agency environment Proven experience in publication planning and project management, including coordination of multiple document deliverables and familiarity with tools such as Datavision Strong knowledge of industry regulations and ethical standards related to publications, including Good Publication Practice (GPP) and ICMJE guidelines Experience working in a matrix team environment with strong organizational skills, commercial awareness, and cultural sensitivity Strategic thinking and planning capabilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, particularly in scientific contexts

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):



Certification as a Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) Experience in scientific medical writing within a business setting Experience developing Scientific Communication Platforms Background in the relevant therapeutic area * Prior experience in a pharmaceutical company's publications team
