Join Albelli-Photobox Group as a Payroll Lead, spearheading international payroll transformation initiatives and optimizing existing processes for automation and efficiency across European locations.

About the role

Albelli-Photobox Group is looking for an energetic and team-oriented Payroll Lead to manage all BAU aspects of payroll across our European locations. Reporting into the People Operations Manager, you\'ll work closely with the wider business and payroll providers to lead the international payroll transformation initiatives across the group.

You\'ll combine best practice and technical knowledge to ensure our existing payroll processes are reviewed and improved, with a focus on automation and integration with our HR systems. This includes coordinating inputs, reconciliation, troubleshooting and being the first line of contact for queries from the business and employees. \

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly payroll cycles and work closely with the People Team to capture and submit payroll changes.
  • Coordinate our global payroll providers and validate all the payroll changes were correctly processed to ensure an optimal employee experience.
  • Ensuring Payroll payments, related taxes and benefits are included and completed accurately.
  • Work closely with our Treasury and Banking team to ensure all payments go out timely and accurately.
  • Capturing the payroll through journal entries and reconciling the respective related balance sheet accounts.
  • Look for efficiency in process improvement and implement accordingly.
  • Keep track of and submit monthly salary changes, variable compensation, and applicable deductions to local payroll vendors
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy and reconcile any pay data discrepancies or errors
  • Ensure payroll vendors and appropriate parties (People Team, Finance) adhere to deadlines
  • Assist in on/offboarding from a financial perspective (payroll, expenses reimbursements, benefits)Respond to employee queries to explain pay and the impact of policies and tax law-related changes
  • Participate in system testing, payroll implementations, process improvements & ad hoc projects
  • Prepare payroll tax and general ledger accounts/activities; liaise with finance to reconcile discrepancies on a regular basis
  • Support the people team in global relocation cases from a payroll and benefits perspective
  • Manage assigned projects and provide guidance/ leadership from a functional perspective.
  • Liaise with the People team to ensure HRIS reliability
Impact and Contributions:
  • Efficiently manage monthly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance while working closely with the People Team to capture and submit payroll changes.
  • Coordinate global payroll providers, validate payroll changes, and ensure timely and accurate payments, taxes, and benefits, contributing to a positive employee experience.
  • Maintain precise financial records by capturing payroll through journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and liaising with Treasury and Banking teams for accurate and on-time payments.
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiency improvements and implement them, enhancing overall payroll operations.
  • Lead and manage assigned projects, provide functional guidance, and ensure HRIS reliability, contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.
Experience and attributes we\'d like to see:
  • A proven track record of multi-country payroll management in Europe with 5+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of at least two of UK, Netherlands and/or Spanish Payroll
  • You have experience working with third-party providers in multiple territories
  • Are knowledgeable and have experience with global payroll legislation and taxes.
  • Good at process optimisation and digitalisation
  • You are passionate about working with people and have an eye for detail.
  • You are proactive and enjoy taking ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to facilitate and manage changes.
  • Good level of numeracy skills and confident in payroll calculations
Nice to have experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in human resources, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Some exposure and/or understanding of the Technology industry
  • You are digitally savvy and an expert user of GSuite (preferred) or O365
