Job Description


Davies is embarking on an organization-wide programme to understand our current ways of working and subsequently create and implement a transformed operating model. Part of this programme will see us expand our global footprint. As such, we require the support of an experienced professional to manage the Privacy aspects including strategy, framework, protocols, processes, and policies, working with both the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance team and our business teams to manage implementation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Global privacy strategy and framework for new offices globally, ensuring alignment with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s overall privacy goals, practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and embed comprehensive privacy policies in new offices around data protection, privacy, and cross-border data transfer, in compliance with relevant privacy regulation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, external privacy partners, and industry associations in global jurisdictions.
  • Promote a privacy-conscious culture by developing and delivering privacy training.
  • Conduct regular audits and privacy impact assessments, to evaluate compliance with privacy standards, and identify privacy risks specific to newly opened office\xe2\x80\x99s operations and data processing activities.
  • Monitor and investigate privacy incidents, breaches, and data subject rights requests, coordinating appropriate responses and remediation efforts.
  • Stay updated on evolving privacy laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure overseas offices privacy practices remain up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy-by-design principles are integrated into systems, applications, and processes in newly opened environments.
  • Collaborate with legal team to ensure privacy requirements are incorporated into any contractual agreements with all overseas vendors.
Key skills and experience required
  • Proven experience in leading privacy initiatives related to Transformation projects (those related to Op Model change / global expansion).
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT are highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-standard privacy laws, regulations (eg.GDPR), frameworks and best practices, including data protection, privacy, and cross-border data transfer requirements, in the UK and US (required) and India (strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of privacy-by-design principles and the ability to integrate privacy into systems, applications, and processes.
  • Experience in implementation and management of Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) preferred.
  • Familiarity with data subject rights, privacy notices, and consent management practices
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining a privacy framework, including policies, procedures and controls.
  • Experience in incident response and managing privacy breaches or data subject rights requests.
  • Proficiency in conducting privacy impact assessments, privacy audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and execute privacy strategies in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various levels and across locations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Insurance and Financial Services sectors is preferred but not required.
