Park View Medical Clinic are a private independent medical clinic established for over 70 years providing first class private consulting, therapy and treatment rooms to rent in a historic Victorian mansion house. Our aim is to provide a professional environment for clinicians, counsellors, therapists; both holistic and aesthetic within the North East of England.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Doctor Medical Assessor to join our team. As a Doctor Medical Assessor, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing the medical needs of patients. Namely Taxi, HGV, Forklift, Ambulance and more assessments. Your expertise will contribute to the accurate determination of medical conditions, treatment plans, and disability claims.

Duties:

Conduct comprehensive medical assessments to evaluate the physical and mental health of patients Review medical records, diagnostic tests, and other relevant documentation Perform thorough examinations and assessments to identify medical conditions and their impact on daily functioning Collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather additional information and insights Analyse assessment findings and provide detailed reports outlining diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and disability evaluations Communicate assessment results to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies as necessary Stay up-to-date with medical advancements, research, and best practices in order to provide accurate assessments
Medical Assessments:

Conduct thorough medical examinations of drivers to assess their physical and mental fitness for driving. Review medical history, perform physical examinations, and assess vital signs to determine overall health status. Evaluate sensory functions, including vision and hearing, to ensure drivers meet the necessary requirements for safe driving. Assess drivers for any medical conditions or disabilities that may impact their ability to operate a vehicle safely. Documentation and Reporting: Complete detailed medical reports summarizing examination findings and any recommendations for further evaluation or treatment. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all medical assessments and related documentation. Communicate examination results to drivers in a clear and compassionate manner, providing guidance on any necessary follow-up actions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing driver licensing and medical certification. Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to driver medical examinations, and adapt examination protocols accordingly.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Excellent clinical assessment skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests and medical records
- Ability to analyse complex medical information and make sound judgments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear report writing and effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals
- Empathy, compassion, and professionalism when interacting with patients
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license
- Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine)
- Experience in conducting medical assessments or disability evaluations is preferred but not required

Any week days and Saturday working, 8 to 16 hours per week
Salary is negotiable depending on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week
