Role Overview
The Secretary is responsible for the overall management, legal and business administration, and day-to-day operation of the club, working closely with the Management Committee to ensure financial profitability, regulatory compliance, and excellent member experience.
The Secretary's key responsibilities will include:
Member & visitor relations
Golf management, schedule, societies, events
Legal business administration and financial accounting to UK GAP
Leading, Managing and supervision of departmental managers
Marketing & administration
The Club secretary/Manager will also be central to the creation of the club's strategic plan and future vision and helping to modernise governance protocols
Key Responsibilities - Financial Management
? In association with Accounting Director and GL accounting provide reports on financial performance/budgets, forecasts, and management accounts in compliance with UK GAP. Monitor income, expenditure, payroll, and cash flow. Liaise with auditors, accountants, and regulatory bodies
Key Responsibilities - Staff Management
? Recruit, train, and manage club staff. Set objectives and conduct performance reviews. Foster a positive and professional working environment
Key Responsibilities - Member Experience
? Act as a key point of contact for members and visitors. Working closely with the Club Professionals and committees within different sections in the club.
Candidate Profile
? A thorough understanding of operational and governance demands of a private member's golf club, including health, safety and welfare of members and staff.
? Strong understanding of legal and business secretary administration.
? Financial accounting to UK GAP preferrable.
? Proven ability to drive process change and performance improvement.
? Strong leadership and organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? IT literate, including Microsoft Office and club management systems.
? Golf knowledge and experience.
