Job Description

Scope of Job:

Responsible for the retail experience of our members, members guests and visitors. To deliver first class service for all aspects associated with retail and golf operations, to a standard that meets and exceeds the membership and guests expectations, and which is in line with our 'Top 100' golf club aspirations.
Hours of work:

The hours of work are 40 hours per week. Given the nature of the role it will be necessary to work on weekends and bank / public holidays as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties.
Experience:

Proven experience in high quality golf retail. Proven experience in diary and tee time management. Proven experience in golf related operations. Proven experience in customer service.
KPI's:

Providing a first class golf reception and exceeding the golf shop retail / repair / hire and range budget. Assisting in the collection of the clubs greenfee revenue. Maintaining the shop to look presentable and to the expectation of a top 100 golf club.
Skills and Knowledge:

Outstanding host presence. Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) Strong ability to 'Sell through service'. Individual greenfee database compilation and marketing through ESP and IG. Innovative, Pro-active and reliable.

Specific Duties:



Golf Reception:

To portray a professional image of the club at all times with a 'no problem' mentality. To be the 'perfect host' from 'initial welcome' to 'clubhouse & golf facilities information' to '1st tee' to 'post round analysis' to 'bidding them farewell'. To liaise with the Course Manager/Head Professional on early morning decisions effecting course amendments and closure / reviews and reopening. To have a clear understanding on daily golf course conditions and to communicate these positively and effectively. Ensuring that the tee closures boards reflects the closures of the day/week and includes relevant buffer zones. To help promote club activity beyond just the golfing realm and to embrace the clubs culture in all areas. Checking of visiting handicap certificates and ensuring these are asked for at initial enquiry. To be aware of any potential new membership interest from our visitors and to liaise with the Head Professional and GM for an efficient follow up. To receive and handle any complaints with regard to the playing of the course or to refer them to the Head Professional and GM as appropriate.
Golf Retail and Repairs:

To create a retail environment that evokes a sense of professionalism and interest. To demonstrate a high level of understanding in shop merchandising and to focus on developing and rotating 'new areas of interest'. To ensure the clubs recent branding is represented on all associated stock purchases and signage where relevant. Cashing up responsibilities. To assist in an efficient and high quality club repair service to the membership with all repair stock and sales reported through ESP. To ensure the repair workshop is in clean and tidy condition at all times and complies with Health & Safety regulations.
Golf Buggies and Trolley Hire:

To ensure the buggy store and trolley presentation is worthy of an aspiring 'top 100' golf club. To assist in the care and maintenance of all golf operations physical assets. To ensure the security of all equipment is constantly observed. To ensure that all golf hire sales are reported accurately through ESP.
Golf Range:

To ensure the practice facilities are 'ready for business' at the beginning of each day. To ensure that range balls are cleaned as a standard and that collection is coordinated with the Head Professional/Course Manager to allow for grass cutting and preparation. To ensure this area is in line with our 'Top 100' club aspirations.
Golf Operations:

Briefing members and societies on daily conditions of play both verbally and online, i.e. tee of the day, local rules, timings etc.
People:

To ensure the clubs Health and Safety procedures are applied at all times, clearly communicated, effectively monitored and regularly reviewed.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 27,000.00-30,000.00 per year
