About the Opportunity



We are seeking a Goods In Operative to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is critical in ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and finished products meet required specifications, quality standards, and compliance criteria. You will play a vital part in maintaining product integrity, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting our commitment to delivering outstanding quality to our customers.

Key Responsibilities



Load and unload delivery vehicles in line with H&S procedures. Checking Goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages & completing paperwork. Quality checking goods on arrival prior to accepting load. Movement of goods between departments, using FLT or manual and Electric pump trucks. Notify relevant departments if any shortages occur on deliveries. Liaising with the quality team if a non-conformance needs raising. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of issues and concerns. Booking in deliveries with suppliers. Ensure all stocks movements are accurately recorded including stock to be allocated to production. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and sustained product quality. Assisting with stock takes. General Housekeeping of Goods In Warehouse. Observe and help to drive our Health and Safety culture. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing and quality functions.

What We're Looking For



Previous experience in 'goods in' within a manufacturing environment. FLT Licence and UK Drivers Licence Proven ability to identify raw materials. Skilled in the use of traditional measuring equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometres, verniers). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Working knowledge of non-conformance processes. Knowledge of business central or equivalent ERP system. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001 compliance standards; internal auditing experience is a plus.

Desirable Qualifications



NACE, FROSIO, or ICorr Level 1 Relevant paint inspection qualification
