Goods in/Stock assistant

. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive individual to take ownership of a key role here at Ideal Building Systems.

As a goods in/Stock Assistant will support the effective and efficient operation of the goods-in and stock control functions, ensuring timely receipt, accurate documentation, and optimal storage of materials. The role supports the overall supply chain by maintaining accurate stock levels, working collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:



Stock and Inventory Management:

Support responsibility for the availability and stock levels of a supplier-specific list of materials.

Identify and assist in the implementation of stock level improvement programmes to enhance availability and forecast accuracy.

Assist the Stock Controller with accurate sorting, labelling, and storage of goods, optimising space utilisation.

Participate in inventory checks and full stock takes to maintain stock accuracy.

Prepare accurate daily movement reports (inward, outward, internal).

Goods In / Out:

Receive and inspect incoming goods, checking for damage and discrepancies between goods, purchase orders, and invoices.

Pick and deliver goods across the site as required.

Pick, label, and dispatch goods with all relevant documentation.

Prepare documentation packages for jobs, including tallies, inspection reports, and traceability reports.

Logistics & Supplier Coordination:

Work closely with the Procurement team to support material availability.

Assist with the management of logistics from suppliers to depots and warehouses.

Provide cover and support across the department as needed.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with other key departments using a collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and operational methods.

Contribute ideas and feedback to drive positive change and efficiencies within the team.

Equipment Handling:

Operate forklifts and other machinery as required (licenses must be held and valid).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.

FLT licence is advantageous but not essential.
