We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients across a variety of settings, ensuring high standards of patient safety and wellbeing.
About us
Hatfield PCN is a friendly and supportive PCN. We have 55,000 patients across our 4 practices. There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. The role will contribute to improving the quality of patient care across the network of practices.
We are recruiting for 5-7 sessions at Lister House Surgery, Wrafton House Surgery and Spring House Medical Centre. Sessions will be on fixed days in each practice.
This role will work under the clinical supervision of a specific GP at each practice.
Job responsibilities
To undertake duties governed by the contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services including:
A variety of duties including face to face surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes
Administration - dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters, task, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate
Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that from NICE.

Qualifications
Essential
Full GMC registration.
Completion of Certificate of Training (CCT) in GP dated within the last 2 years.
No substantive post held (ie salaried role) after CCT date.
Performers List registered
The General Medical Practitioner must not be:
a. Prohibited from performing any such service by regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013;
b. Suspended from the list of medical practitioners maintained and published by NHS England in accordance with section 91 of the NHS Act 2006 or from the registers kept under section 2 of the Medical Act 1983;
c. and/or Subject to interim suspension under 41A of the Medical Act 1983.

Desirable
Experience of working in NHS General Practice.
Keeping up with CPD and good knowledge of current guidelines.
Understanding of QoF, Medicines Management and the general working of GP practices.
Understanding of SystmOne and EMIS Systems.
Excellent communicator and team player.
