Join Our Friendly and Supportive Team in the Heart of Stroud
We are a fast-paced, well-established GP practice looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our Care Navigation/Reception Team as a Patient Care Navigator. This is a permanent, full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely and appropriate access to healthcare services.

Working Hours:
The role includes early starts from 7:45am and late finishes up to 6:30pm on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential, and occasional cover may be required during staff absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a high volume of incoming patient calls in a professional and efficient manner
Accurately update and maintain patient records
Signpost patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional
Manage appointment bookings
Process new patient registrations
Provide administrative support to GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Manage repeat prescription requests and ensure accurate record-keeping
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies
Participate in ongoing training and development
Perform general administrative duties as required
What We're Looking For:
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Strong ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Polite, clear, and confident telephone manner
Previous experience working with the public (ideally in a healthcare setting)
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with practice management software is desirable
Ability to follow practice policies and procedures
A strong team player who can also work independently
Effective time management and prioritisation skills
Qualifications & Requirements:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Previous receptionist or administrative experience is desirable
A willingness to undergo a DBS check
Flexibility to provide cover during staff absence
