We are seeking a dynamic and organized GP Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of the practice, ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exceptional customer service to patients and visitors alike. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive environment where patients feel cared for from the moment they walk through the door. We are a busy, friendly, forward-looking practice with a practice population of approximately 5,499 patients. We pride ourselves in being able to offer a personal service, and our dedicated team are committed to providing excellent patient care in a safe and supportive environment. Our team comprises of 2 Partners, 2 Salaried GP's, 2 Nurse practitioners 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Health Care Assistant, 3 Pharmacist together with a strong and hard-working Administrative team.
Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a friendly and professional first impression
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and direct calls efficiently
Maintain accurate patient records using computer literacy and data entry skills in electronic health record systems
Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, managing post and managing online workflow to ensure smooth office operations
Support medical staff by coordinating patient flow, and managing patient check-in/check-out procedures
Use office software like EMIS and Docman to help support patient care
Requirements
Proven experience in Reception or office administrative roles within healthcare.
Strong computer skills
Excellent phone etiquette with experience handling multi-line phone systems and providing customer support
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Clerical experience
Knowledge of medical receptionist duties is a plus
Office support experience that showcases excellent time management and multitasking capabilities
