Job Description

Staveleigh Medical Centre is seeking a friendly, organised, and reliable GP Receptionist to provide maternity cover for a minimum of 6 months (with possibility of extension and permanent contract following). This is a patient-facing role at the heart of our busy GP practice, supporting both patients and the wider clinical team.

The position is for 25-30 hours per week, worked as set shifts between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Friday. A set shift working pattern will apply, with details to be confirmed.

Main Duties:

The main duties of the role include:

Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner Greeting patients and checking them in for appointments Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments Processing prescription requests in line with practice procedures Undertaking administrative and clinical support tasks as required Supporting the smooth day to day running of the reception area

Desirable Skills:

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting (desirable) Experience of, or awareness of, clinical systems such as TPP SystmOne and Accurx Strong communication and customer service skills Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
