GPS Expert, Continuous Improvement

A truly exciting opportunity as the GPS Expert - Continuous Improvement, you will report to the Senior GPS Lead (GSK Production System) and Smart Manufacturing and be a member of the Global GPS Team.

Our GSK Production system is the way we improve processes at GSK, and while much progress has been made in the past few years our ambition is to broaden the impact to improve performance in all aspect of our manufacturing operations.

As we look to accelerate our Continuous improvement program and build the GSK production system into our ways of working, we need experienced, engaging leaders to help us on this journey. In this role you will:

  • Lead the GPS transformation and acceleration across the GSK Manufacturing Network using Continuous Improvement and Smart manufacturing
  • Lead the Strategy Deployment process to convert Operational strategy into tangible goals
  • Coach senior leadership teams to make GPS a core aspect of site and functional operations
  • Inspire, lead, and influence innovation and synergies across teams
  • Provide hands on support to sites/functions while devising appropriate strategy for sites to solve their business requirements
  • Ability to rapidity resolve complex business problems using structured problem solving
  • Deliver balanced scorecard aspirations while developing continuous improvement capabilities across the network.
  • Support the Manufacturing network in the identification of both financial and non-financial benefits associated with GPS Implementation
  • Evolve the production system in line with industry trends to deliver best in class performance

Required qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelors/Honours degree, or equivalent, in science or engineering discipline
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, FMCG or other manufacturing or Quality Ops environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Lean Black Belt
  • 50% Travel required visiting sites to improve performance
Preferred qualifications and skills:
  • Master Black Belt/Lean Master qualification
  • Possess strong leadership, scientific and business acumen, and ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and ensure compliance to all GSK policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Continuous improvement initiatives and cultural change year on year resulting in both financial and non-financial benefit and behavioral change
  • Diagnostic capability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex problem-solving efforts to achieve business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and navigate without formal authority to deliver on business results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and confidently defend informed recommendations
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
