Job Description

Lead and support Hockey teams across age groups 12-18 including in games sessions, training sessions and fixtures Work within the Sports department in the school, specifically in Hockey, supporting lessons and working with individuals and groups Enhance the learning experience of the pupils, helping them consolidate their understanding and express their thoughts and questions whilst developing your own skills at the same time Help to develop the pupils' talents by challenging them to give their very best in all that they do Support the staffing of weekend fixtures or events Support the department with administration and other tasks as directed by the Director of your department Work alongside the House Parent and Assistant and share responsibility for the pastoral care of a Boarding House and Playrooms Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of pupils is a priority at all times Organise and supervise study periods along with activities during the weekend Do your best to create and sustain a positive atmosphere where the pupils can relax and unwind whilst feeling comfortable and secure
This is a full-time position within a busy boarding school and duties are timetabled over six days, including evenings and weekends. Graduate Assistants are an integral part of our pastoral teams.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Proven experience of playing or coaching Hockey, with the ability to perform to a high standard Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships Well-rounded personality Confident, resilient, proactive and ability to work flexibly Approachable, enthusiastic and considerate Be in sympathy with the ethos of Stonyhurst as set out in our Mission Statement Entitled to work and reside in the UK Be committed to the safeguarding of young people Experience within a boarding school is desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 15,300.00 per year

Experience:
