Groundbreaking computational infrastructure is vital to provide the necessary support to our customers and partners. We have an opportunity for you to join a small team of highly qualified engineers and system developers, where you will focus on the development of a Cloud based platform for microelectronics design including secure data management, complex databases, sophisticated user interfaces and close-coupled data visualisation systems.


Our systems are being continually developed, both on premise and in commercial clouds, to offer additional functionality to customers and improve operational efficiency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities



You will play a pivotal role in our development of our cloud-based design platform to 650 universities and research labs throughout Europe. This high profile work is essential to ensuring that we remain at the forefront in a constantly evolving microelectronics sector.


Key activities include:


Architect and develop sophisticated solutions for Microelectronics design in AWS and Azure clouds that are robust and intuitive for end customers to use. Customize and configure virtual private clouds, elastic IPs, and mass deployment of multiple machine instances. Work closely with CAD software support engineers to identify and address system requirements for successful solution implementation. Implement solutions that are robust and have security at heart to protect sensitive technology data. Use agile decision making to continuously develop and upgrade functionality. Maintain, refine and develop Cloud based solutions to meet the current and emerging needs of customers and support the new and future highly sensitive microelectronics technologies.

Person Specification



In order to apply for the role we are looking for the following:


Essential:



Achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree, in a relevant field of study (S) Have the right to live and work in the UK at time of starting employment (S) Have excellent proven programming ability in procedural based languages and languages suited to scripting (S&I) Have some experience of virtualisation and a good understanding of the principles of virtualisation technologies. (S&I) Have used AWS, Azure or other commercial clouds. (S&I) Demonstrate a logical approach to software debugging and a genuine interest in discovering more about system architectures and developing Cloud based computing solutions (S&I) Good knowledge of Linux computing (S&I) Conscientious, reliable and hardworking with good interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and communicate relevant technical information in English (S&I)
