Cranleigh STEM is looking for a Graduate Control Software Engineer to join an innovative sustainability and clean energy business.

The Company has entered an exciting growth phase and is scaling up its operational capacity to meet the demand for its zero-emission systems. We are looking for enthusiastic and industrious Engineers to help deliver the company\'s long-term success.

The Junior Control Software Engineer shall work within the Stack and Systems team to develop control software for fuel cell power generation systems. The role comprises control strategy implementation, software testing and diagnostics development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting with the development and implementation of control strategies for a fuel cell power generation system across product platforms.
  • Validate diagnostics and monitoring capabilities for prototype systems using hardware and software technologies including calibration tools.
  • Validate control software on test benches including the preparation of test cases.
  • Participate in systems design activities including requirements analysis to capture functional, safety and compliance requirements.
Essential requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or other related engineering disciplines.
  • Some experience in model-based systems development with MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow environment and code generation to C/C++.
  • Knowledge or experience using CANape.
  • Basic experience using version control tools, ideally git.
  • Some experience with functional programming such as in C/C++ and scripting in Python and MATLAB.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of communication bus protocols including CAN, LIN beneficial.
  • Basic experience in control software verification and validation processes such as SIL, PIL and HIL tests to prove designs.
  • Experience with calibration tools such as CANape, and INCA.
  • Embedded systems development experience e.g., on single-board computing platforms.
