We are looking for a

Graduate Design Engineer

to join our successful

Optimisation

team. This role is

home based

with occasional travel to our offices and sites required.


Role and Responsibilities




The candidate will be joining the Construction Design team within Technical Services. As a team we specialise in the design, construction and operation of renewable energy schemes throughout the UK. Our clients are large businesses with complex operational requirements and exacting standards.


The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:




Preparation and review of the mechanical and electrical designs for renewable energy projects. Working in a close-knit team, in a fast paced and evolving market place the role suits a recent graduate looking for an opportunity to develop and refine their skills and knowledge, with significant opportunities to progress through the business. Duties include CAD drawing, design and specification of materials and systems, electrical and mechanical design calculations and creation of bills of quantity. A candidate would have either a BEng or MEng in mechanical or electrical engineering, however previous experience of a similar role in Solar PV or renewable heat would be considered strongly. A working knowledge of EXCEL and CAD software will be required, and a candidate would benefit from an understanding of Solar PV, HVAC, AC electrical design and installation requirements, ability to organize and update various trackers and version controls and also a keen eye for detail. Full training will be given for all specialist design software and knowledge required to become a valued member of the team. The role is working remotely from home. The candidate will be expected to attend regular virtual internal design meetings and external client facing meetings. There will be times when the candidate will be expected to travel for business, as such a full UK driving license is required. Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements




Essential




BEng or MEng in mechanical or electrical engineering. CAD Software experience. Good Excel skills. Renewables knowledge. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable




Electrical design or installation experience.
