Job Description

Tam Shilliday Plant Hire and Groundworks LTD is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to integrate into the existing business to work on new and existing client sites, predominately working across Perthshire, a company vehicle will be provided to suitable candidates.

The right candidate would preferably have some experience in all aspects of civils and groundworks including but not limited to earthworks, drainage, service installations, and concreting works.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to,

Design and Planning

Assist in the planning of projects, including excavation, drainage, and foundations. Collaborate with site team to develop project specifications and plans.
Site Assessment:

Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for project planning. Analyse ground conditions and environmental impacts.
Project Management:

Support project managers in coordinating activities on-site and ensuring project timelines are met. Monitor progress and report on project status to senior staff. Assist in the team's compliance with the CDM Regulations and ensure that robust risk assessments are carried out before works, operations or inspections take place Carries out dimensional control activities ensuring appropriate checks, including the transfer of setting out data from 2D CAD data and extracting setting out data from the Digital Engineering model directly into the setting out instruments. Interprets as-built surveys, verifying compliance with project requirements. Produces reports. Ensure surveys are carried out in a timely manner. Extracts tolerance information from specifications. Applies appropriate setting out techniques to meet tolerances. Complies with project and company procedures on Workmanship, quality, inspection, and testing.
Technical Support:

Provide technical support during construction, including interpreting design drawings and resolving issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Documentation:

Assist in preparing project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications. Maintain accurate records of project progress and changes.
Collaboration:

Work closely with other engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Professional Development:

Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance engineering skills and knowledge. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

- Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Graduate
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From 30,000.00 per year
