As a Graduate Engineer you will be participating in the renewable energy and waste management sectors, helping define, engineer and deliver engineering solutions across a variety of projects and customer types.
You will learn how to work with a customer to understand their project requirements so that the eventual project meets with their specifications. You will then be taught how to calculate the requirements of a process, from sizing a digester through to selecting the right instruments and pumping equipment for the job.
Ensuring that the eventual design of the project is safe is a key responsibility of a process engineers and so you will be taught about the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) risk assessment process as well as the requirements of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) and how to ensure that the project complies with these.
This is a great opportunity to learn about other systems and design philosophies, including their strengths and weaknesses.
