We are recruiting for a Graduate Engineer to join the Engineering team on a two year fixed term contract.

The role will offer you lots of variety and you will roll up your sleeves and gain valuable experience as you support our Rolling Stock engineering team looking for root causes, finding alternative solutions and making recommendations to problems / issues to support reliability and maintenance issues which occur on Metrolink rolling stock.
We are always looking at providing high-quality engineering solutions to ensure our assets are safe, reliable, and maintained to the highest standards to drive performance and efficiencies in keeping our Trams flowing on the network and our customers moving around Greater Manchester.

Key accountabilities will include:
Investigate, identify root cause and determine sound engineering solutions for issues which are detrimental to the reliability and performance of Metrolink's rolling stock.
Assist in improving whole life cycle costs of Metrolink rolling stock through identifying and implementing maintenance improvements.
Identify activities or actions which improves the safety of the environment for KAM staff and customers.
Build and maintain effective cross organisational working relationships to facilitate delivery of business plan activities.
Ensure data which is input and recorded in the asset management system is correct.
Develop reports to monitor performance and reliability at a system level.
Share trends and key findings from data and present findings to the team
Advocate of innovative thinking when solving problems.
Take part in STEM related activities.
Champion health, safety, wellbeing and embed the zero harm principles and just culture in all ways of working.
Create working partnerships and collaboration with other engineering teams to work on joint projects.
Mentor colleagues who are developing in the engineering space, including apprentices and work experience.
What you'll bring:
Qualified to a minimum of a Bachelor's Engineering degree in either (but not strictly limited to):
+ Mechanical
+ Electrical
+ Railway Member, or working towards membership of a recognised professional institute (IMechE/IET).

A starting salary of 29,000 increasing in year 2 in line with your development plan
