Job Description

Adman Civil Projects Ltd is an established civil engineering company based in Omagh, Co Tyrone. We have opportunities for students during their placement year and graduates who have recently completed a relevant engineering or construction management degree.

The Company operates across a broad range of sectors, including the development of building projects, construction of roads and motorways, and utility projects for electricity and telecommunications.

Due to continued growth within the Adman Group, an opportunity has arisen for a Placement Student / Graduate Engineer to join our dynamic Company.

Main Duties



As part of an established site management Team, duties includes:

Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental rules and regulations are adhered to

Undertake surveying and setting out duties, checking works as required for the project.

Maintain all records, registers and reports up to date. Ensure that copies of regulations are available and statutory notices are prominently displayed.

Ensure quality records necessary to meet quality requirements are maintained

Assist / plan the work and efficiently organise site operations in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines; check drawings and quantities

Ensure that all plant operators use the equipment that they are qualified to operate.

Ensure that all method statements and risk assessments are readily available and that other (Sub) Contractors provide their statements and assessments and that these are approved before they commence work.

Assist / undertake on site fire risk assessments to ensure that adequate fire precautions are provided for site offices and welfare facilities and that any flammable liquids or liquefied petroleum gases are stored and used safely.

Avoid hazardous manual handling operations so far as is reasonably practicable. Assess any hazardous manual handling operations that cannot be avoided and reduce the risk of injury as far as possible. If in any doubt contact the Company SHEQ Manager or Safety Consultant.

Ensure that any accident or dangerous occurrence which results in an injury to any person (not just employees) and/or damage to plant and equipment is reported and investigated in accordance with Company Policy.

Encourage reporting of "good catches" and set a good example by being proactive with spotting such items

Candidate requirements



Qualified or undertaking Degree / Fd Degree Level in a relevant Engineering / Construction Management Degree

Must be willing to travel and work away from home on project-by-project basis

Proficient in surveying and software (AutoCAD, Total Station etc) plus Microsoft packages

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a Team

Valid UK Driving licence is essential

Must have valid right to work in UK
