Graduate Health Economist Analyst

Long Eaton, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Petauri is a purpose-built pharmaceutical services platform which offers broad expertise to seamlessly support our clients with impactful solutions that accelerate patient access to life-changing care.

Petauri Evidence partners with market access and HEOR teams across all global and local milestones, providing the strategy, insight, evidence, and tools to ensure commercial success. We combine academic and technical rigor with specialized knowledge and commercial agility in an evidence-driven approach to optimize patient access to medicines and technologies. Our Expertise includes Global Market Access & Pricing, local Access & HTA, Health Economics & Statistics and Value Communication.

The Petauri Evidence HEOR team focuses on the technical aspects of evidence-based decision-making. We are a team with extensive experience of health economics, medical statistics and HTA. As well as providing consultancy services to the pharmaceutical industry, we support UK HTA decision-making through a collaboration with PenTAG, and by providing statistical support to the Scottish Medicines Consortium. Our experience covers economic modelling (early, global, HTA) and statistical analyses (such as survival modelling, indirect treatment comparisons, and matching methods) and independent considered advice. We take pride in communication of our work through submission dossiers, EAG reports, conference proceedings and publications.

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated graduate health economist to join our friendly HEOR team at Petauri Evidence. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic company that provides industry-leading analysis to the pharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate would have a strong work ethic, be team-oriented, and hands-on in a varied role.

This is a permanent position based in one of our offices in Nottingham (Long Eaton), Manchester, or York on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate would be expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week. Working alongside the senior HEOR team, this role will involve a wide variety of duties.

Your day-to-day work will involve the analysis of economic inputs and clinical trial data in a combination of Microsoft Excel and the statistical software package R. You will be given responsibility from the outset and encouraged to continuously develop your skillset; learning is a large part of our job.

You will act as the economic modeller, working with senior members of the HEOR team to deliver evidence-based and accurate content consistently to a high standard, across a varied range of therapeutic areas and a breadth of deliverables.

Due to the high level of exposure to a variety of projects, you would have the opportunity to develop quickly, and we will coach and support you to enable this to happen. We are keen to aid your professional development which may involve funding academic courses, attending conferences, or taking a range of different roles on projects.

In summary, the role involves:

Desk-based research in a particular disease area

Applying and synthesizing the results of multiple data sources to estimate outcomes (including clinical trial data analyses)

Identifying appropriate costs and other inputs from relevant sources

Developing economic models to compare costs and outcomes between health technologies (i.e. cost-effectiveness modelling, budget impact modelling and payer communication tools) Statistical analyses required for health economics (i.e. survival analysis, utility analysis)

Performing technical validation of models developed internally or externally

Communicating findings to clients via face-to-face meetings, online calls and technical reports, with the potential to be present at industry conferences and publish in academic journals

Contributing to the writing of HTA reimbursement dossiers which demonstrate the value of new health technologies to payers and healthcare decision makers

Requirements

Essential:

We expect you to have achieved (or be on track to achieve) a 2:1 or above BSc in an analytical subject (for instance mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering or science-based subjects). The candidate we are looking for will have an interest in problem solving and critical thinking, however we value the skills and interest more than the exact degree.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with fluent spoken and written English

Proactive with good organization and time management skills

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information

Highly motivated team player with outstanding interpersonal skills

A commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning and development

Displays a strong work ethic with a positive attitude toward managing priorities and delivering quality

All candidates must have the right to work in the UK, and due to the sensitive nature of the work, are asked to declare any unspent convictions. Due to the number of applications we receive, we will be unable to respond to those who do not meet these minimum standards.
