AM-COE is seeking a highly motivated graduate with a background in
Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or Battery Technologies
to join our dynamic R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in
solid-state batteries, hydrogen fuel cells
, and other next-generation energy storage technologies.
You will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, supporting R&D activities from concept to prototype and beyond. You'll be part of an interdisciplinary team and work closely with project managers, key stakeholders, and the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Support experimental R&D projects on solid-state batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, and other electrochemical systems.
- Plan, execute, and document laboratory experiments, data analysis, and results reporting.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and external partners.
- Assist in scaling up lab results to prototype and pilot manufacturing stages.
- Prepare technical reports, present updates to internal stakeholders, and contribute to project planning.
- Maintain high standards of lab safety and support process improvements in our advanced facility.
- Carry out occasional ad hoc tasks to support wider R&D, operational, or project needs.
Essential Requirements
BSc, MSc, or MEng in one of the following:
- Chemistry / Electrochemistry
- Materials Science / Materials Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Energy / Renewable Energy Engineering
- or a closely related discipline with electrochemical modules.
- Strong understanding of electrochemistry and battery principles.
- Hands-on lab experience with electrochemical testing (e.g. CV, EIS, GCD).
- High attention to detail with excellent record-keeping and documentation.
- Strong skills in data analysis and scientific interpretation.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Practical experience using potentiostat/galvanostat.
- Experience with Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurements and analysis.
- Hands-on research or project work with battery or fuel-cell systems.
- Understanding of slurry preparation, electrode coating, and drying processes.
- Strong organisational skills and basic project management experience.
