Centry Services Limited (Centry) provides back-office and support services to four leading removal/relocation companies in the UK- Pickfords Move Management Ltd, Anglo Pacific International Ltd, Excess International Movers Ltd and MovePlus Mobility Ltd. Included in its menu of support services, Centry provides in-house legal advice and support to these four companies. As a Legal Services Assistant, your primary focus will be to support and assist the Group Legal Services Manager in order to deliver a timely, efficient and professional legal service to the companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting the companies with debt recovery by providing advice on contractual options;
Provision of legal advice and support to the companies and their network of branches;
Dealing with civil claims in the Small Claims Court both as claimant and also defendant;
Dispute resolution - advising, managing, and assisting the companies with customer disputes to ensure that disputes are handled efficiently, effectively and in accordance with trade association standards and to engage with Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman as and when required;
Contract drafting and negotiation (both consumer and commercial);
Managing Intellectual Property portfolio & trademarks- working with trade mark attorneys;
Company Secretarial support including but not limited to filing Confirmation Statements and other company filings;
Assist to plan , deliver and implement effective in-house training;
Compliance on GDPR/Data protection laws;
Assisting the companies with Subject Access Requests;
Oversight and approval of sale and disposal of debtors goods or abandoned goods;
Drafting and implementing new company polices as and when requested.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
One year's relevant experience in commercial or private practice would be an advantage;
Experience in dispute resolution, contract, consumer insurance and/or data protection law;
Claims handling experience;
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);
Excellent communication skills- confident to deliver training courses and/ or represent the companies at court;
Attention to detail;
Diplomacy and tact;
Discretion
Good team working ability
Ability to use own initiative
Ability to work under pressure and to respond to short deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS:
A university degree / Diploma in law or a related field.
