Graduate Magnet Technologist

, you will will gain hands-on experience across multiple R&D workstreams supporting magnet development and facility testing.



Your core responsibilities:


Support R&D in the design, modelling and performance evaluation of superconducting magnets and components; assist with the commissioning and operation of cryogenic test rigs and coil/material characterisation, including data analysis and documentation. Develop knowledge and understanding of fusion relevant topics and apply this learning to assigned projects. Contribute to manufacturing and inspection process development for HTS conductors and coils, maintaining quality records and working with academic and industrial partners to improve technology readiness. Identify areas where improvements could be made to experimental apparatus, process plant systems and to operational practices and methodologies. Liaise with other teams and groups to build networks and to ensure effective collaboration. Salary

Qualifications

Degree in Science or Engineering from 2025 or '26 Confident with all Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint Driven, with a strong appetite to learn and take on new challenges Able to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Well organised and adaptable with the ability to plan and prioritise workload
