PMUK's Home Appliance Division is looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D Mechanical team. The successful candidate will work alongside Mechanical Design Engineers within the R&D department, undertaking technical tasks and assisting with the development of components and assemblies under the supervision and guidance of engineers and senior members of the team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING




Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of basic components and assemblies for new and existing models from concept to mass production, ensuring they comply with the customer requirements, and liaising with other areas of R&D and other departments to ensure this is fulfilled. Support in the resolution of issues working with internal contacts, external suppliers, customers, toolmakers, and other Panasonic organisations. Assist in ensuring assigned mechanical parts are available on schedule for sample builds according to agreed schedules. Support with general testing and evaluation of appliances, assemblies, and components being developed in HAD R&D. Under supervision, support the Project Leaders and Team Leader to ensure relevant project-based AQ and R&D documents (NCL, schedule table, BOMs, etc.) are completed in line with the required processes. Provide necessary information for technical and strategic meetings and attend and contribute to the relevant development meetings, both internal and external. Gain understanding of all areas of R&D, PMUK, and Panasonic departments, roles, systems, and processes. Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and other PMUK departments. Assist in the evaluation of historic problems and endeavour to eradicate them from future designs. Support Engineers and Project Leaders to ensure cost requirements for mechanical aspects of developments are available when required, including samples cost, mass production parts, and tooling cost. Consider new technology to improve and implement new R&D systems and processes, ensuring efficient product development and future improvement to product development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR




Essential Requirements

Degree-level qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline. Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical issues. 3D CAD experience (preferably CATIA V5 and ENOVIA). Good working knowledge of MS Office or similar software.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge of simulation tools e.g., CFD and FEA.

07:45 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 07:45 - 13:30 Friday.
