Selected candidates will be enrolled on our Graduate Development Programme and have the opportunity to develop their skills within a supporting environment which encourages challenge and collaborative behaviours. Candidates will use industry leading computer software and modelling programmes while working on a variety of different projects, You will; \xe2\x80\xa2Be involved in the design of the overhead contact systems\xef\x82\xb7Learn about the critical interfaces with other railway disciplines such as Track and Signalling\xef\x82\xb7Prepare drawings, calculations and reports for the design commissions\xef\x82\xb7Learn to apply a variety of International, European, National and Railway Standards\xef\x82\xb7Learn how the design solutions can be implemented to minimize the disruption to the operationalrailway.\xef\x82\xb7Liaise with the Client to understand their requirements and then design the optimal solution to meet their goals\xe2\x80\xa2 Be involved in the design of the overhead contact systems\xe2\x80\xa2 Learn about the critical interfaces with other railway disciplines such as Track and Signalling\xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare drawings, calculations and reports for the design commissions\xe2\x80\xa2 Learn to apply a variety of International, European, National and Railway Standards \xe2\x80\xa2 Learn how the design solutions can be implemented to minimise the disruption to the operational railway \xe2\x80\xa2 Liaise with the client to understand their requirements and then design the optimal solution to meet their goals

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BEng Mechanical Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above\xe2\x80\xa2 MEng Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage\xe2\x80\xa2 Rail modules or experience would be an advantage\xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Rail/Mechanical Engineering\xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrable interest in Rail/Mechanical Engineering and developing a career in this industry\xe2\x80\xa2 Willing and able to work towards chartership with the IMechE\xe2\x80\xa2 Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint\xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing withthe confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback\xe2\x80\xa2 Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive\xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.
