The Role





This role will commence in September 2026. This is a policy graduate programme.

At the CAA we offer a 2-year rotational graduate programme, providing you with the opportunity to stretch and challenge yourself across various placements focusing on policy. This is designed to nurture and develop your skills, knowledge and future potential within policy.


The graduate programme is contractually based in Aviation House, Gatwick and comprises of three eight?month rotations. To provide a well?rounded experience, placements will be in Aviation House, with 2 of the 3 opportunities rotating into the London office.


The programme will enable you to develop:




An understanding of how policy is developed implemented, and evaluated Exposure to end-to-end policy development from initial research and analysis stages through to the creation of policy documents Skills in evidence-based policy making and using data to inform policy [options and recommendations] and decision-making Conducting research and analysis to support policy development Assessing impacts and identifying risks, opportunities, and trade-offs in policy options Applying critical thinking to solve real-world regulatory challenges Writing clear, concise and persuasive materials e.g. policy papers, briefings, slide packs, consultations Project management Political awareness and understanding of legislation and regulatory frameworks Integrity, impartiality, and commitment to public value Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing policy environment

Post Programme

Additional Information





For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

Relocation & Property




The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years' time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.


We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.


We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
