full-time, permanent Assistant Project Engineer
to join our growing team and support the delivery of projects valued up to 2 million.
Operating across Scotland's Central Belt, our work spans a range of services including light civil engineering, groundworks, hard landscaping, public realm improvements, and streetscape developments.
As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic
Assistant Projects Engineer
to play a key role in supporting the execution and coordination of our projects.
THE ROLE:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their engineering career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Reporting to the Projects Engineer, you'll assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of our civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and budget standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Projects Engineer in planning, coordinating, and managing the successful delivery of projects.
Ensure appropriate resources and skills are allocated to site activities to meet project demands.
Arrange and call off materials and plant required to complete site works.
Support the Projects Engineer in overseeing and managing employees and sub-contractors to ensure timely and high-quality completion of work.
Monitor progress against the contract programme and rolling schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, schedules, and progress reports.
Coordinate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain smooth project operations.
Conduct site visits and assist in inspections, reporting on progress, issues, and compliance.
Assist in identifying, addressing, and resolving project-related challenges as they arise.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring full compliance across project operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
This role is well-suited to a recently qualified graduate holding a Degree or Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering
Previous work experience in construction (preferred but not essential)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of project management tools
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in a team-oriented environment
A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving
Driving License essential
