About the role



We're looking for an Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Nottingham (located in the Lace Market). This is a fantastic client facing opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility through to final account and post-construction delivery on a wide range of interesting projects across multiple sectors.

As part of our close knit, experienced team, you'll work directly with clients and design teams, visit sites regularly, and play a key role in delivering high-quality construction projects on time and on budget. The role offers exposure to all aspects of cost management, including tendering, procurement, and contract advice.

Key Responsibilities



You'll work as part of a collaborative team delivering a full range of client-side cost consultancy services. With guidance and support from your manager, responsibilities will include:

Attend design team and client meetings, supporting cost management, tendering, contract and procurement processes. Support in preparing order of cost estimates using benchmarks. Help prepare detailed quantities and descriptions for elemental cost plans. Support the pre-tender process, preparing tender documentation. Analyse tenders and assist in the preparation of written reports and recommendations. Help prepare interim valuations and final accounts. Liaise with main contractors and specialists. Support calculating cost variances associated with project delay/changes. Assist with supporting project managers and contract administrators on contractual matters, dispute avoidance etc. Assist with Client liaison, funder liaison.

About you



You're at the very start of your career in quantity surveying and ready to learn from experienced professionals in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You're enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in the built environment. You enjoy solving problems, working with others, and taking responsibility for your own learning and development.

Essential

Degree in Quantity Surveying (or working towards). Knowledge and understanding of measurement and cost analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English. Proficient using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word). Experience with Bluebeam is an advantage. A proactive, organized approach to your work, development and time management. Willing to travel regularly to sites.
Preferred

Aspirations to achieve MRICS chartership/APC. Relevant experience in cost planning, tendering, or construction contracts (JCT).
