The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Prof. Natalia Lawrence and Dr. Cassandra Lowe. This BBSRC Consumer Lab funded post is available from 1st October 2025 until 31st March 2026.
The successful applicant will support a novel study investigating how meat-free lunches influence subsequent meat and energy intake. Study participants will log their food intake using either a standard 24-hour dietary recall or an innovative AI-assisted food-tracking app developed by our commercial project partners.
The post will include managing participant recruitment and coordinating lunch sessions, processing dietary data and contributing to statistical analyses, and writing up reports and papers for publication. The post holder will also liaise with project partners to support app development and contribute to funding applications to extend the project.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of behavioural or nutritional research, work collaboratively and manage participant-facing research activities. They will be confident using software for processing nutritional data and conducting statistical analysis, and able to manage competing research and administrative demands and deadlines.
