specialist SEND school in Whitehaven

that supports children aged 4-16 with

Autism, learning disabilities, communication needs

, and

emotional regulation challenges

What You'll Be Doing



As a

Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant

, you'll support pupils on a

1:1 and small group basis

, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop key life and communication skills.

Your role will include:



Supporting pupils with

Autism, ADHD, speech & language needs

, and

SEMH

Helping deliver tailored activities based on individual learning styles Encouraging

emotional regulation

, positive behaviour, and wellbeing Working closely with

teachers, therapists, and the wider school team

Supporting communication using tools like

PECS, Makaton

, and

visual supports

(training provided) Creating a calm, inclusive and structured learning environment (Optional) Assisting with

personal care

, where appropriate (full training provided)

Hours and Schedule



Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Contract:

Full-time or part-time, temp-to-perm options available

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.

Pay: 91.00-105.00 per day
