Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Whitehaven

A welcoming Whitehaven primary school is looking for calm, committed individuals to join their team this September as SEN Teaching Assistants. Full-time and part-time roles available.

The Role


As a Graduate SEN TA, you'll work closely with children who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or communication challenges. You'll support them in the classroom on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them feel safe, engaged and empowered to learn.

You'll:

Adapt activities to suit individual learning styles Support children in building communication and confidence Help with emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour Work alongside teachers, therapists and families to provide consistent support Use creative tools like visuals, sensory play or storytelling to engage pupils (full training provided)

Hours and Start Date



Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm Term-time only - no evenings or weekends Full-time or part-time hours available September 2025 start

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.

Pay: 91.00-105.00 per day
