About the Role
We're working with a highly supportive
specialist SEND school
in
Whitehaven
, catering to pupils aged 4-16 with needs including
Autism
,
ADHD
,
learning difficulties
,
speech and language challenges
, and
emotional regulation difficulties
.
As a
Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant
, you'll:
Support children 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom
Help pupils access learning using tailored approaches
Encourage
emotional wellbeing
,
social interaction
, and
independence
Use visual aids, Makaton, or PECS to support communication (training provided)
Contribute to a
calm, consistent, and inclusive
classroom environment
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team
(Optional) Support with personal care needs where appropriate (with full training)
