About the Role



We're working with a highly supportive

specialist SEND school

in

Whitehaven

, catering to pupils aged 4-16 with needs including

Autism

,

ADHD

,

learning difficulties

,

speech and language challenges

, and

emotional regulation difficulties

.

As a

Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant

, you'll:

Support children 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom Help pupils access learning using tailored approaches Encourage

emotional wellbeing

,

social interaction

, and

independence

Use visual aids, Makaton, or PECS to support communication (training provided) Contribute to a

calm, consistent, and inclusive

classroom environment Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team (Optional) Support with personal care needs where appropriate (with full training)

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
