These roles are ideal for recent graduates who are considering a career in education, psychology, therapy, or social care and want hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs in a warm, inclusive setting.
The Role
As a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, communication challenges, and sensory processing difficulties. Your role will be varied, rewarding, and a brilliant foundation for your career.
You'll:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
Encourage communication, social interaction, and confidence in the classroom
Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours
Support with tailored learning activities and structured routines
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualised strategies
Who We're Looking For
These positions are open to graduates from any discipline, but they may particularly suit those who studied:
Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, or Social Work
Health and Social Care, Sport, or Youth Work
Art, Drama, Music, or related subjects with an interest in creative and therapeutic approaches
You'll bring:

Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Contract: Long-term temporary, with the potential to become permanent

If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
