Graduate Teaching Assistant

Support, Educate, Nurture

Are you a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education? This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at an inclusive setting in Carlisle, supporting young people with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role:

Work closely with teachers to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, Autism, or physical disabilities. Assist in delivering tailored education plans for pupils with EHCPs. Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students engage with learning. Help create a safe and encouraging classroom environment. Gain experience working alongside educational specialists such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

The ideal Applicant:

A graduate from any discipline - backgrounds in Childhood Studies, Psychology, Criminology, Health and Social Care, or Sports Studies are particularly relevant. Someone who is patient, kind, and committed to supporting young learners. A strong communicator who can build relationships with students and staff. A reliable individual with a consistent and nurturing approach to education.

Location: Carlisle Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP, long-term role

If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
