We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated computing/technology graduate to join our Clinical Computing team in Radiotherapy Technology Services for a fixed term of 3 years.You will acquire skills in the specialist field of radiotherapy technology through formal and on-the-job training to ensure the safe and effective implementation, repair, and maintenance of clinical radiotherapy systems and technical infrastructure, including VMware, Citrix, Veeam, and Active Directory.Our Clinical Computing team consists of 4 highly-skilled Clinical Technologists who are committed to enhancing patient safety through their technical expertise and knowledge of our high risk, critical radiotherapy treatment planning and delivery systems and workflows.What makes our team unique is the wide scope of practice and diverse daily activities while collaborating with a large department of clinical and scientific staff. We focus on problem-solving that leads to meaningful improvements in our patients treatment experiences. This includes implementing innovative systems and cutting-edge systems, like AI-assisted treatment planning tools, to improve patient outcomes while reducing manual human intervention.We face challenges that have real-world impacts, ultimately benefiting our patients. We offer training opportunities for your professional growth and invite applicants to contact us for a departmental visit and more details about this role.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the role include:- Complete the IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme.- Work as an operational member of the clinical computing team to build skills and knowledge to support the implementation and management of the following technologies:- Radiotherapy pre-treatment and treatment delivery systems- Specialised clinical applications- Server operating systems and hardware- Virtualisation and VMware- Data storage technologies and backups- Domain administration and group policy- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records of own work for medical equipment maintenance and fault resolution on computerised equipment.- Develop and update processes that are relevant to own area of expertise.As training progresses, supervision will become less direct as you begin to work autonomously in aspects of the role where competence has been achieved.On successful completion of the training programme, the jobholder is qualified to register as a clinical technologist, opening avenues to progress to new roles within the department.About usRadiotherapy Technology Services (RTS) is a group within the Radiotherapy Physics section of the Department of Medical Physics and Engineering at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
