Part-Time Grants Manager
to work alongside our Foundation Director to shape and deliver our Grants Strategy.
You will play a key role in securing vital funding by researching opportunities, developing strong, evidence-based proposals, and writing compelling applications. This role is perfect for someone with proven success in trust and foundation fundraising who also understands the needs of communities in Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre.
What we're looking for
Experience in writing successful bids for UK charities, ideally including multi-year awards.
Strong skills in building outcomes frameworks, indicators and realistic budgets.
Knowledge of the local area and the ability to evidence place-based impact.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
Co-develop and deliver the Foundation's Grants Strategy with the Foundation Director, ensuring a balanced and sustainable pipeline of funding opportunities.
Map and qualify grant prospects across trusts, foundations, lottery and corporate funders, maintaining a forward plan of at least 6-12 months.
Organise and run meetings/workshops with colleagues and community partners to understand what the local needs are to turn identified community needs into fundable, evidence-based project proposals, with SMART outcomes and robust budgets.
Draft and submit high-quality, tailored funding applications and Expressions of Interest.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Programme Leads to produce accurate, insightful reports that demonstrate impact to funders and stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, securing repeat and multi-year support where possible.
Keep up-to-date knowledge of the Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre landscape to ensure all bids are rooted in local context, lived experience and place-based impact.
Essential Experience
Some proven success in grant fundraising for a charity, community organisation, or similar experience could include contributing to successful bids, supporting monitoring, or leading small applications.
Strong written communication skills with the ability (or willingness to learn) to structure bids, outcomes, and budgets.
Good understanding of the Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre area, or willingness to develop strong local knowledge quickly.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and external stakeholders
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience of working on bids to regional or national funders (National Lottery, Children in Need, Sport England) -
desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes, or an eagerness to develop this.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
