About us:

At Douglas Signs we make a wide range of signs for small business and large international brands including Sephora, Harrods, Hotel Chocolat, Boss and many more. We also manufacture a lot of large, industrial scale architectural signage. We build most of our products in house so you will be able to see the manufacturing of your designs first hand and gain an in-depth understanding of processes involved. We are a small team, so working here involves a lot of communication with every part of the operation.

Job Title:

Graphic Designer/Vinyl Technician

The Role:

You will be required to gather necessary information from site surveys, e-mails and phone calls with the client and architectural drawings. You will produce professional quality design packs / signage schemes that satisfy the client's requirements, follow the brand guidelines and clearly communicate all the information necessary for manufacture.

Additionally, you will be expected to interpret design packs and turn them into cut / print files to be manufactured and applied to their necessary media. This includes applying vinyl to flat paneling, backing up letters/sheets and producing large format prints for windows, hoardings, large scale paneling plus much more for a wide variety of clients.

Skills and software:

- Design work: You will need experience with adobe creative suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

- Vinyl Work: Experience in cutting, weeding and the application of vinyl graphics is desirable but not essential.

- Print Work: Experience in setting up print / running printers desirable but not essential.

- Suitable for someone with Product Design experience

Desirable Qualities:

Any age, race or gender will be considered if they can demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail is required, many jobs involve large quantities of signs and an attentive eye will aid you in checking through each item and making sure there are no mistakes. Good time management, we work at a fast pace and the ability to organise your time for each task in order to meet deadlines is necessary.

Schedule:

Mon-Thurs: 8am-5pm

Friday: 8am-4:30pm

Overtime: Occasional

Pay:

27,000 plus per annum depending on experience.
