Job description
Product development plays an integral role in our business; we are looking for a professional designer with a flair for packaging artwork, with 5 + years' experience working with brands, packaging artwork and digital assets; who wants to be part of a successful business with an ambition to top the market with the best and most exciting products.
You will joining a compact, experienced and effective team working across many new and exciting brands and products. You will be responsible for all day-to-day design activities to help deliver projects to the highest level, engaging in every stage of the process from inception to completion.? You will be versatile and confident to handle any project; as well as working on exciting projects, there will be a requirement to do many other smaller day-to-day roles, such as artwork amends, flyers, approvals and presentation support etc.
Handling multiple projects across a large supplier and product base will require strong project management and organisational skills to meet project deadlines.

The Role
Work closely with product team to capture individual product scope requirements for packaging artwork including brand direction, product profile, formats, packaging types etc. and execute subsequent product briefs.
You will be responsible for artwork from concept to completion including creative direction, bespoke graphic creation, adhering to guidelines, reviews, amends and approval process with both internal and external stakeholders
We ask you to sit on product tasting panels and immerse yourself fully in the ranges to ensure product characteristics are captured and expressed effectively across all design executions, including packaging and marketing, encouraging you to push boundaries creatively
Responsible for the co-ordination of projects ranging in scale and complexity from new product launches to minor packaging design amends
You will be managing your own workload in addition to managing freelance/retained designers and illustrators as required.
With the support of the project manager, you will prioritise your workload using critical paths. You must be organized to ensure deadlines are met, and willing to take on new challenges.
Build relationships with licensors and suppliers as necessary to support the requirements of the role
Be a champion for our packaging and digital content standards.
Control brand identities including logos, colour palettes, typography and imagery. Review / update as necessary along with brand guidelines
Work with product & marketing teams to design marketing content & materials including product brochures, flyers and simple digital assets for emails, web banners and social media.
Create compelling copy to support your designs.
Define and implement a best practice for content design, consistent with our brand guidelines.
Research and generate ideas to further promote our products.
We need you to have
Strong fundamental design skills
Creative flair, with an exceptional and versatile portfolio to highlight this. We'll want to see a portfolio of your best work.
Experience with all core design tools & knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. (Ai,PS,InD etc.)
Experience with asset management, brands & brand style guides
Passionate and genuine interest in brands & packaging artwork
Illustration experience
Good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate across departments/suppliers and external customers.
Attention to detail, both visually and proof-reading.
Time-management skills and the understanding of departmental workloads.
Positive can-do attitude, knowing that a successful business thrives on 'whatever it takes', problem-solving ability
Confident working in a fast-paced environment
