Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable greenskeeper to join our team at a scenic 9-hole parkland golf course inFlint, North Wales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about turf care, take pride in maintaining high-quality playing surfaces, and contribute to the overall enjoyment of our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Course Maintenance:o Carry out daily preparation of the golf course, including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.o Maintain bunkers, pathways, and other course features to a high standard.o Carry out aeration, scarification, top-dressing, and other turf maintenance practices.o Irrigation and Drainage:o Monitor and operate the irrigation system.o Assist with drainage repairs and improvements as necessary.o Plant and Equipment Use:o Operate a wide range of turf maintenance machinery and tools.o Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment.o Health & Safety:o Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.o Properly handle and store pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers in line with COSHH regulations.o Seasonal Projects:o Assist with winter renovations, course improvement projects, and landscaping.o Help with tree management and environmental initiatives.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance.o NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Sports Turf Maintenance (or willingness to work toward it).o Experience operating turf care equipment (mowers, strimmers, etc.).o Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualities
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.o Good communication and team-working skills.o Flexible and reliable, especially during peak playing seasons.o Passion for golf and an understanding of how course conditions impact playability.o Spraying or chainsaw certificates (PA1/PA6, CS30/31) are a plus.o A commitment to ongoing personal development in greenkeeping.
