Under the direction of the Course Manager, the Greenkeeper is responsible for the maintenance and development of the golf course and its associated areas. The role aims to ensure high standards are maintained to enhance the functionality and environment of the Club, fostering a satisfying experience for customers that encourages their return.

Supervisory Responsibility:
None; however, may provide guidance to seasonal assistants or volunteers as required.
Main Responsibilities
1. Course Maintenance
Greens and Fairways:
Maintain greens, fairways, and Tees to ensure even wear and tear through effective greenkeeping practices.
Perform turf maintenance activities including scarifying, verticutting, rolling, aerating, applying nutrition, top dressing, irrigation, and divot repair.
Weed and Pest Control:
Assist in identifying and controlling weeds, pests, and turf diseases.
Course Markings:
Mark hazards, out-of-bound areas, and ground under repair; move tee markers and maintain bunkers.
Golf Course Furniture:
Maintain golf course furniture to ensure it is in good condition.
Hole Changes:
Regularly change holes on the greens.
Turf and Plant Establishment:
Prepare ground for and establish turf and plants on the golf course.
Tree and Shrub Maintenance:
Maintain trees and shrubs throughout the course.
2. Equipment Use and Maintenance
Machinery Operation:
Mower's pedestrian and ride on, turf iron roller, utility vehicles such as Gators and buggies, tractors with attachments, strimmer's and blowers
Routine Maintenance:
Assist with the routine maintenance of golf course equipment and agricultural machinery.
Preparation:
Prepare machinery for use and for storage when not in use.
Damage Reporting:
Report any damage to equipment promptly.
3. Safety
Health and Safety:
Take all responsible steps to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, members, and visitors by adhering to legislative guidelines regarding chemicals, tools, and equipment.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all Club policies, procedures, and legal requirements (health & safety, hygiene, fire prevention, employment law, etc.).
Premises Security:
Ensure that all areas are securely locked before leaving.
4. Other Duties
Remedial Work:
Carry out all remedial and preventative work in assigned areas.
Adverse Weather Duty:
Be available during adverse weather conditions (e.g., snow) to clear pathways and roads.
Event Preparation:
Assist in preparing golf and other sports facilities for special events to agreed standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
Undertake any other duties consistent with the role assigned.
Requirements & Experience
Minimum
1 Year of' greenkeeping experience
NVQ Level 2
(or equivalent) in Sports Turf Maintenance (desirable)
Confident mowing all playing surfaces to a high, presentable standard
Spraying PA1 PA2 PA6 (desirable)
Ability to set up the course in line with the Rules of Golf (hole changing, tee marker placement)

Weekend availability (Rota basis)
Full UK driving licence
