We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our small coffee shop / cafe in Oundle . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, alongside excellent customer service skills , creating delicious and innovative dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen team.

Duties

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient food production. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team management. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety practices. Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully before serving to guests.

Skills

Proven experience in a culinary role with a strong focus on food preparation and cooking. Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Culinary experience that showcases creativity in menu development. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with various cooking techniques. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
