We are a new cafe and growing quickly. We require a trained and competent grill chef who can cook customers orders, is well organised and can take orders at quieter times. Experience of a busy kitchen is essential to progress in this role.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of grilled items according to menu specifications and customer preferences.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding kitchen areas.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal quality of meals.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items as needed.
Keep inventory of supplies and notify management when stock is low.
At quieter times, you will need to take orders (online, in person and over the phone).
Requirements
Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably with specific experience in grilling or as a Grill Cook.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking is key.
A trial shift will be used as a selection process.
Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week
