Job Description

We're looking for skilled Ground Clearance Operatives to join our team and play a key role in preparing and maintaining high-quality construction sites. If you're experienced with site preparation, operating dumpers and rollers, and take pride in safe, efficient work, we want to hear from you!


Key Responsibilities


Carry out site clearance and preparation, including removal of vegetation, debris, and unsuitable materials.


Level and compact sub-base materials to specification, ensuring a solid foundation for follow-on works.


Assist with cut and fill operations, muck shifting, and general groundwork preparation.


Read and interpret site levels and drawings accurately.


Complete daily pre-start checks on all plant and equipment, reporting maintenance issues promptly.


Work safely around live services, following all site safety protocols and service avoidance procedures.


Collaborate effectively with site teams to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of workmanship.


Essential Requirements


Valid CSCS card.


Proven experience in ground clearance, earthworks, or groundwork roles.


Skilled in operating dumpers, rollers, and 360 machines.


Confident in reading levels and working from drawings.


Proactive, reliable, and able to manage workload efficiently.


Desirable


Additional CPCS/NPORS tickets (Telehandlers, Dumpers, Rollers).


5+ years' experience in ground clearance, enabling, or groundwork projects.


Experience working as part of small teams or gangs on large construction sites.
