It is a condition of this role that the incumbent either has or commits to securing an HGV licence within 6 months of their start date. If required, training will be provided by the Council and upon successful completion and the obtaining of the necessary licence the employee will then advance to the higher grade.
You will carry out instructions to deliver civils works to the agreed quality/standard within timescales specified whilst adhering to the Council's safety requirements. You must have proven experience of civil engineering ground working excavations and reinstatement on the highway particularly in the vicinity of live cables and utility services. A driving licence is also essential.

ESSENTIAL
Experience of civil engineering ground working excavations and reinstatements on highway particularly in vicinity of live cables and utility services
Experience of operating plant and equipment required for excavation and reinstatement of civil engineering works on highway.
New Roads and Street Works Qualification (training provided)
Sign Light and Guarding Module (training provided)
Good communication skills and the ability to deal courteously and fairly with the public
Ability to work on own initiative without supervision, under instruction and as part of a team
General knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
Experience of working at height
Cat and Genny ticket (training provided)
Hi-ab ticket (training provided)
HGV licence
DESIRABLE
Previous experience of working within Street lighting
Experience in non-destructive testing of street lighting columns
Familiar with G39 issue 3 2020
Experience of local government
An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
